What can I expect in psychotherapy?

  • One of the most important factors in therapy is a good fit between the therapist and the client. My style is empathic and interactive and I encourage you to ask questions and voice concerns in our initial meeting as well as throughout our work together. We will focus on the issues that are important to you, and discover your unique strengths and potential.

How long does therapy take?

  • Individual sessions are usually scheduled for 45 minutes, couples and group sessions are usually one hour. The frequency of sessions varies from one to multiple times per week. The overall duration of treatment can be either long-term or short-term, depending on your needs and treatment issues.

Do you accept insurance?

  • I work with many different insurance companies as an out-of-network provider. You may be eligible for reimbursement depending on your carrier’s out-of-network benefits. I can provide you with a monthly billing statement to submit to your insurance company.

Do you prescribe medication?

  • I don’t, but if needed, I can refer you to a psychiatrist who can evaluate medication needs.

Psychotherapy can be a challenging and rewarding process. Of course, people come to treatment to talk about what’s wrong, but it is also important to talk about what’s right. Each person has natural areas of strength we can further develop to help increase coping skills, reduce distress, improve relationships, and develop a more positive outlook.

With a collaborative approach that combines insight-oriented and goal-directed interventions, we will work together to help you create new pathways towards well-being. I conduct individual, couples and group psychotherapy with adults of all ages, with an appreciation of the particular cultural, ethnic, and spiritual backgrounds of my clients.
